The Philadelphia 76ers are at the point where becoming sellers at the NBA trade deadline might be the best route for them.

The Sixers are the No.

11 seed in the Eastern Conference and are just a couple of games outside the NBAs sixth-worst record.

The top-six protected first-round pick the Sixers owe the Oklahoma City Thunder looms large.

If Philadelphia wants to keep that pick, they must make some trades to make themselves bad enough to ensure it doesnt convey to the Thunder.

One way they can is by trading Andre Drummond.

Sports Illustrated proposed a trade that would put Drummond on the Dallas Mavericks.

He outlined the following deal between the Sixers and Mavericks.

Mavericks receive: Drummond, Adem Bona Sixers receive: Spencer Dinwiddie, Dwight Powell The Mavericks are coming off an NBA Finals run and were the one team to stop the Thunder last season.

If Dallas wants more frontcourt help, and they might if someone like Daniel Gafford is on the trading block, Drummond could fill in for him.

Dinwiddies appeal to the Sixers Dinwiddie is a former Sixth Man of the Year candidate who came fourth in the awards voting in 2019 .

Hes not the player he once was, but hes still productive.

However, his appeal to the Sixers is that hes on a one-year deal.

Powell, by contrast, has a player option that he will likely opt into.

If the Sixers traded for him, he would probably be waived to join a contender this season.

Its not like Drummond is on a bad contract, but its becoming clear that who the Sixers added during the offseason has not worked out for them.

Drummond isnt the source of their problems, but he hasnt helped them in the way Philadelphia would have liked.

Maybe the Sixers run it back with him, but Drummonds second go-round with them hasnt gone as well as the first time.
